Project Description
Careers Wales Cardiff and the Vale provide careers guidance to young people. The organisation is required to perform an annual, data intensive quality self-assessment and approached Propona to develop an online system for use throughout the entire organisation to support this requirement.
The project lifecycle step key to the success of the project was capturing the detailed project requirements from the business domain knowledge holders within the Careers Wales team effectively.
When it came to design and development of the software system, prototyping and the use of 3rd party User Interface controls were a major factor in delivering a small number of functionality-rich web pages that allowed users to perform almost all of their self-assessment tasks in one place.
Careers Wales Cardiff and the Vale successfully used the system for their 2006/7 assessment year and returned for extension to the system based on this experience, for example extending the document management search facility to search within documents with Indexing Server.
